Halloumi
What is Halloumi?
Halloumi is a semi-hard, unripened cheese traditionally made from a mixture of goat’s and sheep’s milk, and sometimes cow’s milk. Its origins trace back to the Eastern Mediterranean, particularly Cyprus, where it has been produced for centuries.
Halloumi is known for its high melting point, making it ideal for grilling or frying. It is often seasoned with mint leaves, which help preserve its freshness. The cheese has become popular globally, appreciated for its unique texture and versatility in various culinary applications.

Known for its distinctive squeaky texture, this cheese boasts a high melting point, allowing for effortless frying or grilling, making it a favored alternative to meat. Rennet, typically of vegetarian or microbial origin, is employed in curdling the milk during halloumi production, without the use of acid-producing bacteria in its preparation.
